University student d*es of drug overdose in Bayelsa
The 300-level student was said to have taken Colorado as he was celebrating his proceeds from an internet fraud activity.

It was gathered that the deceased, who was a 300-level student in the Department of Gas and Petroleum Engineering, was celebrating a recent breakthrough in an Internet fraud deal with his friends when he consumed an excess of the illicit drug that subsequently killed him.
Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Asinim Butswat said the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the hospital for autopsy, while an investigation has been launched into the matter.
“On May 3 2023 at about 2200 hours, one Job Alawari Kei ‘m’ 19, a student of the Petroleum and Gas Engineering Department of Federal University Otuoke, slumped after intake of illicit substances.
“He was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead. The corpse has been deposited at the Hospital for autopsy. An investigation is ongoing,” a statement quoted the police spokesperson as saying.
In a related development, some operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) seized a total of 8,852 kilogrammes (8.8 tonnes) of Canadian Loud, an imported synthetic strain of Cannabis, at the Eleko Beach Road in the Lekki area of Lagos.
The drugs were seized following a 30-minute gunfight with some armed men who were escorting the consignment loaded in two long trucks.
The NDLEA operatives had laid ambush for the traffickers along the Eleko Beach Road in Lekki and at about 4:51 am on Thursday, May 4, two long trucks conveying the illicit consignments were flagged down, rather than stopping, the trucks escorted by armed men sped off, as a result of which there was an exchange of gunfire that lasted minutes.
